Getting a camera for Christmas? Make your own art!
December 18, 2008
This Christmas many people will be getting cameras as presents. With technology changing the way it has over the last few years, 35mm film cameras are almost non existent, replaced by digital cameras. Digital cameras make taking photos much easier than using a film camera, so easy in fact that even a child can take great photos.
The widespread use of digital over film doesn’t mean that photography as an art form is dead though, quite the opposite. Digital cameras have made photographer more accessible to people that weren’t able to afford to take hundreds of pictures with a film camera, as most film rolls were limited to 24 pictures, and getting them developed was very expensive.
With a digital camera anyone can take pictures, and make them very impressive. You can even make the digital pictures into art by printing them on canvas. This way you can turn the Christmas gift of a video camera into something that can create artwork, which can then be used to give away as gifts; maybe to the same person that gave you the camera this year?
